Tarver-Genealogy.net

tarver-genealogy.net, aka Tarver-Gen, is a genealogy research site for TARVER & allied families. Principal allied families include Cockerham, Welch, Lee, Rogers, Matthews, Reeves, Cirilo & Alfrido families. Other families also are being researched. Nearly two megabytes of data and still growing!

This site first appeared as genealogy by lotus dale on butterfly.net in 1997, where it was rated a Texas Top Rated Site by Lycos. The Web site moved to its own domain in 1999, under the moniker Tarver-Gen.

Our family research spans the southeastern US, primarily Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, North & South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee, from the 1600's thru the present.

Tarver-Gen offers a searchable gedcom, query forum, scanned source documents, photos of ancestors and kin, cemetery surveys and obituaries, biographies and historical records, bible records, census and land records, military records, vital records: birth, marriage, & death, and much more.

Tarver-Gen: Directory

Records

  • Growing collection ~ Bible records, biographies, census records and tax rolls, court records, land & deeds, military records, miscellany, newspaper items, probate & succession (wills, estates & inventories), vital records (birth, death, marriage & divorce records.)
  • Manuscripts ~ The richest sources on our ancestor's lives are oftn the rarest: private letters, diaries or journals, memoirs, reminiscences, and manuscripts. Such records reveal people's thoughts and feelings in a way other records cannot. They may record the birth and death of a child the census has missed, or provide details lacking in public records. Someone once said, "it is only the really private material that can put flesh on the bones of history."
  • Coming soon - Record books, church records, county histories, & immigration records.

  • Obituaries Message Board ~ Browse posted obituaries, post your own. Obits are now being posted here.
  • The Cemetery Grounds ~ Cemetery surveys, many with photos of gravestones. Aids for accomplishing tombstone genealogy.
  • Memorial Gardens ~ Memorials and tributes to family members who are deceased.
