Daniel Brown, James (x) Sams, Elizabeth (x) Brown --------------- WILL OF WILLIAM ROGERS In the Name of God Amen I William Rogers of the Lower Parish of Surry County being not very well but of Perfect mind and memory and Considering the Uncertainty of this Life and that all Men are Mortall I do make this my Last Will & Testament -- First, I Bequeafe my Soull to God that gave itt and my body to the Earth from whence it Came to be buried after a Christian manner by my Execx: (Vizt) Item. I give to my Son William Rogers which I had by my former wife, two the value of five Shillings. Item. I give to Son Benjamin Rogers the value of five Shillings. Item. I give to my Son Robert Rogers the value of five Shillings. Item. I give to my Daughter Elizabeth Ellis the value of five Shillings. Item. I give to my Daughter Mary Bennit the value of five Shillings. Item. I give to my Daughter Sarah Bennit the value of five Shillings. Item. Elizabeth Cartwright is said to be the daughter of Robert Cartwright and Elizabeth Orchard. William Rogers is said to be the son of John Rogers and Mary Atkins of Surry Co., Virginia. William Rogers and Elizabeth Cartwright were the parents of Joseph Rogers who married Mary Fargeson. Joseph and Mary were the parents of Sarah Rogers who married John Tarver of Northampton and Johnston Counties North Carolina.
