Jeph Atherton Clk ---------- SOURCE ----------- Northampton Co., North Carolina WB 1, pp. 315-16, will 213 Transcribed by Lotus Cirilo from photocopy of original for Tarver-Gen Web site. ----------- NOTES ----------- This is Samuel 2, the son of Samuel Tarver who married Mary Boyce. Samuel 2 is believed to have married twice (1) Mary Davis and (2) Mary Rowell. Wife (1) Mary Davis, is proven by her father's will. I have not seen the actual will of Elizabeth Rowell which is said to prove her daughter Mary Rowell also married Samuel Tarver. The photocopy of the abstract in my possession DOES NOT INDICATE A MARRIAGE between Samuel Tarver and Mary Rowell: Northampton Co. Jan 20, 1745-1746. May Court 1746. Will of Elizabeth Rowell. Son and Executor: Samuel. Daughter: Mary Rowell. Wit: Thomas Holt, John Gill, Samuel TARVER. Clerk of the Court: Rt. Forster. We assume Samuel named all of his children in his will, and have found no proofs to the contrary. The marriage with Mary Davis is assumed, based upon the will of Thomas Davis, Sr. at Southampton Co., VA (/s/ 4 June 1778, /p/ 12 Nov 1778). It is possible that his daughter was married to another Samuel Tarver, not yet identified. :ABSTRACTS OF EARLY DEEDS OF GRANVILLE COUNTY, NC, 1746-1765 : 1748 p. 6 - DB?, pp. 57-59. 26 Apr 1748.
