Joshua White & Mary (x) White --------------- State of North Carolina Northampton County JAMES TARVERS WILL In the name of god amen, this 22nd day of September 1775 I James Tarver of the county & province aforesd Being sick in body But of good sound memory thanks be to almighty God for it Calling to remembrance the uncertain [illegible] Estate of this transitory life and that all flesh must yield to Death when it shall please God to call do make constitute ordain and this my last will and testament In manner and form following revoking and annuling by these present all and every testament and testaments Will & wills heretofore By me made and Declared either by word or wrighing and this To Be Taken only for my last will & testament and none other. I give & Bequea unto my son Harmon Tarver the sum of five shillings. I give & Bequea unto my Daughters Martha Luis & Nanny Vasser & Sarah Ann Vasser one negroe girl called Phillis to Be divided Equally among them & if when the children Come to age if they cannot agree the negrow must be sold-- I give & bequea unto my Daughter Lucy Rowell the sum of five shillings- I bequea unto my son Billison Tarver a certain Tract of land containing 220 acres more or less Beginning at my corner for the fork of the horse meadow Branch & thence to the head of flowers Branch so along flowers branch to Wheeler’s mill swamp, to Harmon Hill's Corner to along the sd Mill Line to Matthew Buffalows line to along the sd Buffalos line to James Luises line to along the sd Luises to Edmundsons line to along the sd Edmund Sons line to the first station. I bequea unto my son James Tarver a tract of land containing won hundred & sixty acres more or less Begining at the sd Billisons Corner & so along Edmunsons line to Billisons line so along his line to his Corner in head of flowers Branch-- I bequea to my son Benjamin Tarver a tract of land containing won hundred & eighty acres more or less, begining on Mathews line on the south side of the swamp runing along Mathews line to James Parsoms line & along the sd Parsons line to his Corner a pine so along Stantons line to the swamp to along the swamp to the first station-- I give to my two sons Micajah Tarver & Thomas Tarver my old manner plantation to B Equally Divided between them. I give & bequea unto my sons Billison & James Tarver won negro woman called Cate after my wifes widowhood. I bequea unto my son Benjamin Tarver & Charlotte T. Tarver one negro called Iran after my wifes widowhood I bequea unto my two sons Micajah & Thomas Tarver one negrow man called Sam after my wifes widowhood. I bequea unto my Daughter Silviah Tarver one negro girl called Annie. I bequea unto my Daugh Betsey Tarver one negro boy called David. I bequea unto my wife Lucy all my stock and household goods during her widowhood all the stock & household goods to Be Equally divided among my five sons if they can agree to divide among them & if not they must sell it at public sale & Divide the money.
