LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF JACOB TARVER, SR.
In the name of God Amen. I Jacob Tarver of the county and state aforesaid being in a declining state of health but of sound mind and memory and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs, whilst I have strength & capacity so to do, do make this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking & making void all former wills by me at any time heretofore made.
And first & principally I commit my soul into the hands of my creator who gave it, and my body to the Earth, to be interred at the discretion of my Exectors herein after named ~ and as to such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to intrust me, I dispose of the same as followeth,
Impremis I give my son Jacob Tarver & my daughter Sally Roe one Dollar each.
To my daughter Elizabeth Pitman I give three hundred dollars in notes on my son Benjamin.
Thirdly, to my son Andrew Tarver I give the negro boy Abraham about two years old.
Fourthly, to my son Benjamin I give the following negroes, Rose, Franky, & Tom, & their increase ~ on his paying for the maintenance and education of Samuel Roes children herein after mentioned five hundred dollars the following the children that I desire to accept the benefit of the legacy bequeathed under the fourth head Viz, Susannah,
Jacob, Andrew, James, Samuel, Sally, Benjamin ~ sons and daughters of Samuel Roe and Sally his wife ~
My desire is and I commit it to my son Benjamin in charge to disburse the aforesaid five hundred dollars as the actual need of the said children may require from time to time and in what way and manner that he may think most conducive to the interest of the said children.
I nominate and appoint my son Benjamin Executor of this my last Will & Testament. In witness whereof I the said Jacob Tarver (revoking all former wills by me at any time heretofore made) to this my last Will and Testament, have hereunto set my hand declaring it to be my last Will and Testament this twenty ninth day of April 1822.

Phillips Mill Baptist Church, Wilkes Co., Georgia was organized on June 10, 1785 at George Lea's home. The early church members included Jacob Tarver Sr., Jacob Tarver Jr., Polley Tarver and Benjamin Tarver Jr.
As indicated in his will, Jacob's daughter, Mary "Polly" Tarver married Samuel Rowe. The Rowe's are said to have come from Scotland about 1730.
Census records indicate Samuel Rowe, Henry Rowe and Christopher Rowe settled in Orangeburg, South Carolina by 1740 ... Their relationships are not known.
