Reuben was a Revolutionary War soldier, having served under Colonel Elijah Clarke. His name is on the roster of Revoluntionary soldiers, and on the monument to the soldiers who fought in the battle of Kettle Creek. Further proof of his services is attested by the Land Grant Books in the office of the Secretary of State at Atlanta, Ga. He was once captured by the British, and held as prisoner of war about six months at Augusta, Ga. Born in Northampton County, N.C., November 1, 1735, about six years after his marriage to Temperance James, he moved with his family Wilkes County, Georgia, settling on Williams Creek. This location at present is in the extreme northern part of Warren County. He died there in 1829, at the age of 94. Reuben Rogers was a trustee of Amsden Academy, on Williams Creek, December 18, 1827. As Reuben Rogers, Sr., was at that time ninety-two years of age, this probably was his his son, Reuben Rogers, Jr. Uploaded 30 July 2002 ----------- © 1997, 1999, 2002 Lotus D.
