ALFRED "COWBOY" TARVER
Alfred "Cowboy" Tarver, 90, of Buna died Sept. 15 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Buna with burial at Antioch Cemetery in Buna. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Vernon Parish, La., he lived in Buna 45 years and was a retired laborer with Local No. 853.
Survivors include his sons, Odis Tarver, J.T. Tarver and W.R. Whitehead, all of Buna; daughter Willie Mae Fowler of Kirbyville; brothers, Jesse Tarver and Henry Tarver, both of Jasper, and John Tarver of Orange; sisters, Essie Stanley of Vidor, Lilly Baumann of Silsbee and Lou Ella Calahan of Oklahoma; 16 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
