Mrs. John T. Ingram

Rites Slated Friday

Mrs John T. Ingram, 74 year-old well-known Liddieville resident died in her home Wednesday following a long illness. Final rites will be held Friday in the Liddieville Baptist church with the Rev. Homer Mercer evangelistic minister, assisted by the Rev. Lee Riley, officiating. Interment will follow in the Ogden Cemetery.

The exact time of the funeral is not yet known at this date. The time will be set after the arrival of relatives from California.

In addition to her husband [John Thaddius Ingram], she is survived by five sons, Alfred Ingram, Mount Pleasant, Texas, Austin Ingram, Winnsboro, J.B. Ingram, West Monroe, Ishmael Ingram, Olla, Purty Man Ingram, Winnsboro; two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Wiggins, Winnsboro, Mrs. Effie Snyder, Helendale, Calif. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Final arrangments will be in charge of the first National Funeral home.

Last Rites For Thomas Ira Parker Held

Funeral services for Thomas Ira Parker, 68, of Newellton, who died Sunday, Oct. 4, in the St. Charles Memorial Hospital after a long illness, was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 8, at Bethany Baptist Church near Newellton.

Rev. A.D. Foster and the Rev. F.K. Shipp officiated at the services. Internment was in the Legion Memorial Cemetery at Newellton.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Elsie Parker of Newellton; two sons, J.W. Parker of Medford, Ore.; and D.A. Parker of Ashland, Ore.; three daughters, Mrs. Harman Arnold, Mrs. Lillie Guin and Mrs. Gracie Walters, all of Newellton; two brothers, Zed Parker and Nila Parker, both of Newellton; a sister, Mrs. Sam Dozier of Eros; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services Held for Mrs. Sara Parker

Mrs. Sarah Jane Parker, 94, of Newellton, died Wednesday morning December 2, in the Nursing Home at Newellton.

Funeral services were held in the Bethany Baptist Church in Newellton with the Rev. S.K. Shipp officiating. Burial was in the Ogden Cemetery under direction of Brothers Funeral Home of Tallulah.

She was a member of the Bethany Church and a native of the Newellton area. Survivors inlcude a daughter, Lela Dozier, Eros; two sons, Zed Parker and Nila Parker, both of Newellton; a sister, Mrs. Ida Brown, Winnsboro; 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and [illegible] great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were C.J. Guin, J.D.Parker, Julius Dozier, Harmon Arnold and T.L. Parker.

Mrs. Martha E. Smith

Mrs. Martha E. Smith of Liddieville succumbed to a lengthy illness at her home at 4:50 p.m. Saturday. She was 86 years old.

Graveside services for Mrs. Smith were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Ogden cemetery, with the Rev. Rhodes officiating.

Survivors of Mrs. Smith, born February 16, 1871 at Mississippi, are three sons, John W. Smith of Jena and W. Henry and B. Taft, both of Winnsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Brown, Winnsboro, and Mrs. Dan Parker, Newellton; a brother, Charlie Tarver, Pioneer.

Pallbearers were W.M. Keyes, P.L. Dark, T.J. Martin, Elvin Adams, Curtis Newman and Pete Wiggins; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Zed Parker

Newellton (Special) - Zed Parker, 68, died in a Newellton hospital Saturday after a short illness. He was a native of Winn Parish and had resided in Tensas Parish for the past 32 years.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Bethany Baptist Church with the Rev. A.D. Foster officiating. Burial will be in Ogden Cemetery under direction of Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah.

Mr. Parker, a farmer and member of Bethany Baptist Church is survived by his widow, Mrs. Susie [Shellie] Parker; two sons, J.D. Parker, Newellton, and Bill Parker, Del Rio, Tex.; one daughter, Mrs. R.H. Rhodes, Tallulah; five grandchildren; one brother, Nila Parker, Newellton; one sister, Mrs. Lelia Dozier, Eros.

Pallbearers will be Julius Dozier, Hillray Dozier, Michael Parker, A.C. Lyles, Jewel Guinn and Jack Brace.
