Robert F. "Mr. Waver" Tarver Liberty, Amite County, Mississippi

A loving husband, father and grandfather and a retired electrician formerly with R.D. Cooper Construction, he died Thursday, June 8, 2000, at Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary. He was 70, a native of Liberty, Miss., and a resident of Zachary for 31 years.
Visiting at Eastside Baptist Church, Zachary, from 3 p.m. Friday until religious services at 3 p.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Keith Cox, the Rev. Darwin Hall and the Rev. Dale Phillips. Interment in Azalea Rest Cemetery.
Survived by his loving wife, Annie Johnson Tarver, Zachary; five daughters, Patsy Carter, Dianne Ford, Peggy Eldridge, Carolyn Tarver and Betty Jo Tarver; two sons-in-law, Leon Ford and Jeffrie Carter; two sons, Robert Louis Tarver and Thomas Leroy Tarver; two daughters-in-law, Terrie Tarver and Rena Tarver; a sister, Irene Starsky; a brother, J.C. "Dick" Tarver; 28 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, John and Bertha Tarver; a grandson, Richard Lynn Tarver; two sisters; and a brother.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jeffrey Carter, Joshua Tarver, Tommy Tarver, Dick Tarver, Dewayne Ford, Clavin Eldridge, Nelson Rodriquez and Andy Carter. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church, Zachary.
He will be remembered as Mr. Waver and Mr. Hello, the man who sat in his yard on Pride-Port Hudson Road and waved at those who passed by. He put many smiles on the faces of people. Now he is rejoicing and sharing his waves with others. Thank you, Mr. Waver, for letting us share you.
