John Wesley Tarver was the son of Eli Harper Tarver and Elizabeth Ann Holland, the grandson of Rebecca and Thomas B. Tarver and William Holland and Alcey Bramblett. He was born January 01, 1862 in Kosciusko, and married Minnie Dallas Sanders on January 11, 1900 in Kosciusko, Attala County, Mississippi. Minnie Sanders Tarver died in Attala County and is buried at Bethel Cemetery in Kosciusko.

John and Minnie Tarver had four daughters: Mary Elizabeth Tarver who married Rufus Zelle Rogers; Gertha Marie Tarver who died (at the age of 14) in 1918 with Spanish Influenza; Della Ethelyn Tarver who married Clarence Thurman Keen; and Jon Edna Tarver who married Tom Ben Chadwick.

Notice I am presently working to identify and distinguish between the several Thomas B. Tarver's that resided in Mississippi in the early to mid-1800's. If you can assist, please email me! Thank you, Lotus -- <lotus@cirilo.net>
