A native and resident of Magnolia, Miss., he died Friday, March 16, 2001, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Jackson, Miss. He was 66. He retired from the U.S. Army with 22 years of service and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. Visitation at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until religious services at 2 p.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Crochet Kennedy. Interment in Day's Cemetery, Greensburg.
Survived by his wife, Carolyn A. Tarver, Magnolia; a daughter, Pam Butler, McComb, Miss.; a son, Robert Glenn Tarver, McComb; three stepdaughters, DeLisa Zeigler, Osyka, Miss., Leah Pouncey, Pride, and Cheryl Coon, Kentwood; a stepson, Kit Williams, Greensburg; two sisters, Jenny Brown, Magnolia, and Arlene Newton, Tazewell, Va.; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Addie McCloud Tarver.
