L L McManus of Atlanta Buried At Mars Hill Sept. 26
L L McManus, 60, of Atlanta, Route Two, passed away at his home Thursday night, September 26, 1946, following a brief illness. He was the son of the late Prof. P McManus and Mrs. Rowanna Killingsworth McManus, both of whom had preceded him in death. A member of the Masonic Lodge of Verda, he was laid to rest in the Mars Hill Cemetery with Rev. Moses Mercer officiating. Hixson Funeral Home was in charge.
Pallbearers were his nephews, Aaron McManus, Acie Lee McManus, Grant McManus, Elzie McManus, all of Atlanta, Dewey LeBaron of the Mars Hill community, and Buddy Calhoun of Riverton.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. J B Hale of Shreveport and Mrs. Edward Hale of Atlanta, and one son, Alon McManus. He also leaves four brothers, C P McManus, Atlanta; S L McManus, Coushatta; Travis L McManus, Verda; and Vincent McManus of Port Arthur, Texas; four sisters, Mrs. D C Lovett, Verda; Mrs. Minnie Johnson, Verda; Mrs. Massie Heard, Epps, La.; and Mrs. Russell Tarver, Winnfield.

L L McManus was the brother of Bernice McManus Tarver. Bernice McManus was the wife of George Russell Tarver, born 27 Feb 1898 in Rapides Parish, La. George Russell Tarver is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Pineville, La. He was the s/o Marion Crawford Tarver & Adeline Jolly, and grandson of Russell Marion Tarver and Aletha Ann Minerva Wilson. Russell Marion Tarver was s/o Samuel Wilson Tarver and Mary Ann Lilly.
