Funeral services for Julius Carroll Tarver were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 2, 1994 in Montgomery First United Methodist Church. Officiating were Revs. Mike and Retha Corrigan. Interment followed in the Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches, Louisiana under the direction of Southern Funeral Home, Winnfield.
Mr. Tarver, age 79, of Montgomery, La., died at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 30, 1994 in the Central Louisiana Rehab Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana. He was a member of the Montgomery First United Methodist Church, a graduate of Northwestern State University and the University of Arkansas, Chairman of the Administrative Board of First United Methodist Church, served as Mayor of Montgomery for six years, was a retired principal in the Natchitoches Parish School System, and was a pilot since 1941.
Survivors are his wife, Tez Tarver of Montgomery; one daughter, Linda Wilkerson of Crowley; two stepdaughters, Eva Lang of Vancouver, Washington, and Margie Kuhlman of Montgomery; four brothers, R E "Tootsie" Tarver of Bastrop, Howard, James, and Harold Tarver, all of Winnfield; two sisters, Viola Cole of Lake Charles, and Gail Woodward of DeSoto, Texas; two grandsons, Brannon and Kyle Wilkerson, both of Louisiana.

Julius Carroll Tarver was the son of Julius Marl Tarver and Volena Melton, the grandson of Marion Monroe Melton and Caroline Josephine McIlwain who are buried at Winnfield City Cem., Winn Par., Louisiana. His paternal grandparents were William A. Tarver and Malinda Caroline Harper who are buried at Mount Zion Cem., Winn Par., Louisiana.
Siblings: Carolyn Gail Tarver, Harold Thomas Tarver, Howard Tarver, James Marl Tarver Jr., Viola Tarver, and Rudolph Edward Tarver.
