Mrs. B. Tarver Succumbs; Rites Held Friday
Mrs. Bernice Tarver, 63, of Winnfield, died at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Alexandria.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Tarver of Winnfield and Cheston Tarver of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. R.R. Williamson of Houston, Texas; two brothers, S.L. McManus of Atlanta and Vincent McManus of Port Arthur, Texas; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday in the South Winnfield Baptist Church with Revs. Curtis Rozelle and Andon Calhoun officiating. Burial was in Mars Hill Cemetery near Atlanta under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Bernice McManus Tarver was the wife of George Russell Tarver, born 27 Feb 1898 in Rapides Parish, La. George Russell Tarver is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Pineville, La. He was the s/o Marion Crawford Tarver & Adeline Jolly, and grandson of Russell Marion Tarver and Aletha Ann Minerva Wilson. Russell Marion Tarver was s/o Samuel Wilson Tarver and Mary Ann Lilly.
