William A Tarver

  • son of John Tarver and Caroline P. Trower,

William A. Tarver marr Mary E. Truett, the d/o John and Jane Truett. Mary Truett Tarver's dates are b. July 01, 1858, d. December 01, 1928, taken from her gravestone.

William and Mary are buried at Ogden Cem., Liddieville, Franklin Par., Louisiana -- I took photos of their graves and think they are online in the cemetery section of Tarver- Gen.

Census data

Franklin Par., ED41, Ward 8, roll no. T625_612, enum 9 Feb 1920 by John S King.

Jesse Tarver household, 1920 - p.13A, hh 251-251, lns 44-50 (full citation above)

  • Jesse Tarver, head, 26M, wht, marr, LA LA LA, farmer
  • Sarah Tarver, wife, 27F, wht, marr, LA LA LA
  • Stella Tarver, dau, 10F, wht, single, LA LA LA
  • Calvin Tarver, son, ?M, wht, single, LA LA LA - age may say 8
  • Alvin Tarver, son, ?M, wht, single, LA LA LA - age may say 7
  • Ramage Tarver, son, 4 yr 6 mo, M, wht, single, LA LA LA
  • Mark Tarver, cousin, 17M, wht, single, LA LA LA

The ages for Calvin and Alvin were difficult to decipher, but I believe they are 8 and 7, though it is possible the 7 for Alvin is in fact a 9. It is unlikely it is a 4 given the age of Ramage clearly was 4 and 6/12.

Zed Parker household, 1920 - p.13A, hh 246-246, lns 25-27 (full citation above)

Another related household on same page is that of Zed and Suzie Parker (nee Susie M. Shelly), with child Pearl. Zed is the s/o Daniel Sals Berry Parker and Sarah Jane Tarver. Sarah Jane the d/o Thomas Ira Tarver, the granddaughter of Ira Bird Tarver and Mary Ann Barnes -- Ira Bird Tarver was the s/o Judith Cockerham.

Their census data for this enumeration is:

  • Zed Parker, head, 22M, marr., LA MS MS, farmer
  • Suzie Parker, wife, 20F, marr., LA LA LA
  • Pearl Parker, dau, 1 yr 9 mo. F, single, LA LA LA

George Williams household, 1920 - p.13A, hh 248-248, lns 17-18 (full citation above)

Some TARVERs in this area married into Williams family. If George Williams is one of your Williams, he also is on this page, with wife Carrie, ages 26M, and 20F, both LA LA LA, and he a farmer, hh 248-248, lns 17-18.

Levi Tarver household, 1920 - p.14A, hh 268-268, lns 21-26 (full citation above)

  • Levi Tarver, head, 34M, wht, marr, LA LA MS, farmer
  • Florean Tarver, wife, 36F, wht, marr, AL AL AL
  • Percy L Tarver, son, 8M, wht, single, LA LA AL
  • Odett(?) Tarver, dau, 6F, wht, single, LA LA AL
  • Grady Tarver, son, 4 7/12 M, wht, single, LA LA AL
  • Willie M Crowell, stepdaughter, 14F, wht, single, LA LA AL

The Odett was difficult to read, but appears to have said Odett, otherwise Odalt, which seemed less likely ...

--------
I remember taking a photo of the gravestone for Ramage Tarver. It is online here on Tarver-Gen in the cemetery section: Ogden Cemetery, Liddieville, Franklin Parish, Louisiana.
