Thomas1 Lee (WilliamA)1,2 was born ca 1749 in Virginia, "on the eastern shore"3, and died 1843 in Bedford Co., Tennessee3. He married (1) Hannah Murphy3 ca 1770. She was born 17523, and died October 07, 1787. He married (2) Sarah Smith May 26, 1789. She was born June 04, 1769, and died February 19, 1813. Notes for Thomas Lee: Thomas Lee fought in Revolutionary War in 1781 in or near Berkeley Precinct in the Battle of Blackstock. This section was then called Berkeley Precinct. For these services remunerated as follows: "Books O to P, p 33. Issued Apr 4, 1785 to Mr. Thomas Lee for 18 lbs 16 shillings, 7 pence- farthing (English money) for provisions and forage for Militia use in 1781. Books U-W, p 118, issued July 23, 1785 to Mr Thomas Lee for 18 lbs 2 shillings, 10 pence, 1/4 farthing for 127 days of Militia Duty in 1781." Books located in Union Court House, Union Co., South Carolina. Thomas Lee came to South Carolina with his father, lived near Union County South Carolina, where he owned a great deal of land. Named as executor of his father's estate. In 1838 he went with his son, Green Thomas Lee, to Northwest Tennessee where the son acquired a great deal of land. Thomas Lee, Sr. was buried in 1843 near the Tennessee Lee estate at Brick Church, in Bedford County. Children named in Union County Court records. Notes for Mary Willard: "... , Mary Willard was very pretty and dainty She had very small, and pretty feet, and Michael Byrd (See 1st) always selected her shoes himself and fitted them on her himself while he talked "baby talk" to her. When I was a little girl, I saw her once. She was then very old, however, she roomed upstairs and continued to do so until her death.
