Some researchers have claimed this line descended from the William Lee who immigrated on the Assurance Do Lo (July 24, 1635), but other records show the William on the Assurance Do Lo brought with him a wife and 14 week/month girl child, both named Mary, and that he willed all of his estate to the daughter about 18 years later.
Other researchers claim this line descended from William, second son of Sir John and Joyce Romney Lee. Conflicting research shows this son died young.
We are still looking for an ancestor.
You'll find here some info on his descendants of William Lee who died in Union County, SC to the decendents from the following LEE forward, and pleased to share the fruits of our labors with other LEE family researchers. I have continued numbering the William Lee's in this lineage with Wm III, to make our research flow more seamlessly with that of those who include the above two Wm.'s in this line. I hope posting them thus will prompt information that can help prove or disprove the above connections.
We continue our research on the decendents. If you are researching this Lee line, we have additional data on several families.
