Lotus, this is a very impressive site!
Good design and aesthetics as well as great information. Got this bookmarked for more visits. For others who read the guestbook, I am a descendant of Elizabeth TARVER born c1817 probably Mississippi, who married c1834 William HERRINGTON born 1817 Mississippi (probably Lawrence County). The only clue I have to Elizabeth's parentage is the inscription on her tombstone, which says "daughter of J and P TARVER". She and William lived in Scott Co, MS until about 1851, when they moved to Anderson County, TX, along with his father, Thomas HARRINGTON b. 1787 SC and his 2nd
wife Bridgett BUCKELIEU/BUCKALOO. Eliabeth died 1859, and in 1861 William remarried. There was a NELSON TARVER living in Henderson Co, TX in 1860 next door to the relatives of his 2nd wife. If anyone knows anything about this group of TARVERS, please email me.

Okay here's a story! My great grandmother's name is Ella C. Lee, who was born in Mason County, West Virginia on December 8th 1885. She died in 1969. No one in my ENTIRE family knows what the C. stands for!! She would not tell a soul!! She took it to the grave, and so we are up a creek! As a favor for my grandmother, I am trying to find it!1 THE GREAT QUEST!! And I am getting NO WHERE!!! :) So, somehow, I found your site, and it had a reference to Lee I guess, but I haven't found it yet. I was searching the web for info about Capt. Arthur Long and his wife Mary Allen.I found his daughter Sarah married to Thomas Tarver 1712. I am a relative of Mary Long's sister Jane and her husband Robert Williamson. I am amazed at the depth of info on your site. Good job.

My husband`s great-grandmother was Louisa Tarver, 10/7/1846-8/19/1922, married to Pryor Lee Chesney,10/7/1871.
She was daughter of Ransom Tarver and Sarah Crawford. Ransom was a son of Samuel Tarver, who was a son of John Tarver. I am new at this. How do I find about his ancestors? Thanks. This has been fun!

Our name is so uncommon in Alabama i was
surprised to find a website referencing
our name sake. Just found it tonight so i look forward to viewing it more later. My family, beginning w/ JOHN LEE
TARVER SR. and ANNIE TARVER began there roots in south Alabama. JOHN LEE TARVER SR. was the son of DAN TARVER (born 1869 lived to be 97!!) who I think was from south Alabama as well.
All of our family currently lives in
south Alabama, NW FLORIDA, New Orleans,
or north Alabama. Look forward to another more extensive visit.

I am a new genealogy buff! My ggggggg grandfather, (it looks like) was Thomas Warren, and his daughter Alice Warren married Mathias Marriott and I am descended down from there. My maiden name was Marriott. I have found some info but I am trying to find out Where Mathias came from, and who he is descended from. Alice is descended from Charlamagne, so I know about her linage, just want to know more about Mathias Marriott. I suspect he came from England; or maybe even France as a Hugenot. I think he and Alice may have been Quakers, because they may have been married in a quaker church; but this is just conjecture. I am a descendent of Thomas and Agnes Alexander Welch>Joseph and Catherine Deck WElch>Thomas and Hester Parton Welch>Joseph andNancy Parella Shepherd Welch>Manuel and Amanda Jane Wilson Welch>Wilburn and Alice Kimsey Welch>Thomas and Louise Case Welch. The connection that we are wondering about and think is possible if not probable, is that Thomas Welch who died in Charleston in 1736 had three halfbreed sons, Tom, Henry and John. I beleive that there is a connection to the Welches who were in Rutherford and then Macon County N.C. but haven't been able to nail it down. My original goal was to establish Indian roots and didn't even see the connection on the Welch side. Joseph who married Catherine Deck lived with the Cherokees at the time of the removal...so did some of his children. I am looking for other connections because my grandmother Alice Kimsey Welch was 1/4 Cherokee..her mother was Addie Agusta Shield and hers Lourena Lundsford Shields...Amanda Jane Wilson was also Indian and her mother was Caroline Deweese whose mother was Elizabeth Wilde. I'm new at this anyone with information to help us is welcome.
