HISTORICAL MARKER: Boeuf Prairie Methodist. Fort Necessity, Louisiana. Oldest Church in Franklin Parish. a campground established in 1806 at Boeuf Prairie, first permanent settlement in this area, became the site of a true house of worship in 1833. the church served as the courthouse for a time after formation of Franklin Parish in 1843.

This cemetery was surveyed and photographed in the summer of 1999 by my mother, Adina Tarver Cirilo, and I for the Tarver-Gen Web site.
