Researching Your Family in Spanish Records

Research Centers

Many original Spanish records are available on microfilm or microfiche from the Family History Center (FHC) collections at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Others can be obtained at larger institutions. Some popular research centers for Hispanic genealogy are:
  1. Benson Latin American Collection at The University of Texas at Austin, Texas
  2. Documentary Relations of the Southwest at the University of Arizona at Tucson
  3. San Antonio Public Library Texana Department in Bexar County, Texas
  4. The Bancroft Collection of Western and Latin Americana at Berkeley, California
  5. UT-Pan American at Edinburg, Texas
